Bajči Tower

Gäceľ – The Oldest Part of Oravská Poruba Gäceľ, a former noble settlement, is considered the oldest part of the village Oravská Poruba. It was founded on the territory of the Orava estate, likely in the first half of the 14th century. The first written record of Gäceľ dates back to 1415. In 1573, the settlement was granted by Hungarian King Maximilian II to Sebastián Bajči in recognition of his long-standing service. His son, Peter Bajči, founder of the Bajči family line in Orava, served as vice-governor of the Orava region from 1603 to 1619.
